sin importar lo que dice la geografía
quedarse en el olor a tortilla
en el sabor a maíz
en el olor a hierba
quedarse así nomás
contra el océano indecente
contra el mar obsceno
infatigable en su ir y venir ocioso
quedarse allá
a pesar del grito
que quiere llenar el espacio
quedarse en otro olor
en otra tierra
quedarse con todo y sentidos
a pesar de su labor quisquillosa
y puntual en nuevos vientos
quedarse así nomás.

staying in the smell of tortilla
in the flavour of corn
in the smell of herb
just staying
against the indecent ocean
against the obscene sea
restless in its idle coming and going
staying over there
despite the scream
that wants to fill the space
staying in another smell
in another land
staying with all the senses
despite its picky and punctual
labor in new winds

No sé por qué te leí y pensé en Benedetti, tal vez el ritmo, el tono, quién sabe...Lo que sí sé es que leyéndote provoca quedarse y provocan las tortillas y el olor a maíz y las ideas y venidas del mar así no más...
